Yet one of the keys to a successful cancer center is generating and sustaining high-functioning teams, he says. There are clinical teams dedicated to a disease specialty. There are nursing teams, research teams, quality and compliance teams, and more.
In his quest to understand why some teams work better than others, Dr. Bolwell read Give and Take, a book about organizational leadership by Adam Grant. From it, he gleaned two truths “immediately relevant to all of us.”
