Presented by Cleveland Clinic Digestive Disease & Surgery Institute, the Dr. Victor Fazio IBD Symposium in Medical and Surgical Treatment of Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis will incorporate advanced case presentations and new surgical and medical treatment options for patients with complex Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
“This symposium will present in-depth clinical perspectives from expert physicians on the interplay of medical, endoscopic and surgical treatment of complex IBD, including the medical and surgical management of perianal Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis and ileal pouch disorders to optimize patient outcomes,” says Activity Co-director Bo Shen, MD, Medical Director of Cleveland Clinic’s Victor W. Fazio, MD, Center for Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
“You can expect to come away with a greater understanding of current state-of-the-art IBD medical and surgical management techniques for incorporating new therapies into clinical practice,” adds Activity Co-director and IBD Center Surgical Director Tracy Hull, MD, “including the safety and efficacy of recently available biologics and their impact on infection risks and how to reduce those risks in pre- and post-surgery periods.”
The complimentary event, including dinner, will be Monday, May 8, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the JW Marriott Chicago, 151 West Adams St., in the Grand Ballroom. Case presentations begin at 6:30.
