“We are both honored and humbled to again be recognized as the No. 1 program in the country,” says Eric Klein, MD, Glickman Urological & Kidney Institute Chair. “This level of achievement can be attributed to a culture where people – our patients and employees – come first. Yes, we focus relentlessly on pushing the envelope in innovation in many areas. Yes, we focus on efficiency and quality. But all of our efforts come down to a deep desire to care for people. We all went into medicine so that we could help the sick and extend lives. We remember that notion every single day and every hour we are here – and often when we aren’t here!

“I am grateful to our staff — administrative personnel, patient reps, scientists, nurses, physicians and so many others – who are dedicated to their work and to our patients. They have built our reputation for excellence and they sustain it.”

Dr. Klein adds: “We also appreciate how colleagues and alumni nationwide have recognized what we do and continue to collaborate with us in research and patient care. We value these relationships, and thank you.”

Specialists in the Center for Men’s Health address urologic conditions that specifically affect men such as voiding dysfunction, erectile dysfunction, low testosterone, chronic testicular pain, benign prostatic enlargement (BPH) or chronic prostatitis. The center offers the latest technology for treating these urological conditions.

Cleveland Clinic’s Minority Men’s Health Center, founded in 2003, is one of the first programs in the country to broadly address the health issues that particularly impact African American and Hispanic men. The center provides disease screenings and health and wellness information, offers primary medical care and referrals to specialists, conducts research, and educates the public and healthcare providers about minority health concerns.

The Center has one of the world’s largest, collective group of surgeons with experience in urologic laparoscopic and robotic surgery. Techniques in robotic and laparoscopic surgery that have been developed and perfected in the Cleveland Clinic laboratory and operating rooms have become the gold standard of urology practice for prostate, bladder, kidney cancer and other urological surgeries.

With a rich history of technical innovations, our specialists have transformed the management of urologic cancers using advanced surgical techniques such as open partial nephrectomy, laparoscopic/robotic partial nephrectomy, radical nephrectomy and venous thrombectomy for advanced kidney cancer, open/robotic radical prostatectomy and robotic radical cystectomy. We have also been at the forefront of pioneering less-invasive treatment alternatives where appropriate.
