Dr. Jarek Maciejewski Receives Innovation Award for Genomic Discoveries in Hematologic Malignancies (Video)

Jaroslaw (Jarek) Maciejewski, MD, PhD, was presented with the F. Mason Sones, MD, Innovation Award, which honors the spirit of Dr. Sones, a cardiovascular researcher at Cleveland Clinic whose seminal discoveries led to better patient care. Dr. Maciejewski was honored for his groundbreaking genomic discoveries related to leukemia and contributions to cancer precision medicine.

“The selection of Dr. Maciejewski is proof that he is one of a handful of true leaders in the field of genetics, leukemias and bone marrow failure states,” says Brian J. Bolwell, MD, Chairman of Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center’s Taussig Cancer Institute. “He has the keenest scientific mind of anyone I have ever met. What sets him apart is his ability to marry scientific knowledge with clinical medicine, which very few researchers can do.”
