As a patient’s primary caregiver, nurses have the perspective and expertise to significantly impact key issues that affect patient care and the practice of nursing. At Cleveland Clinic’s Legislative & Health Policy Conference, industry experts will showcase how nurses can maximize their abilities to influence the changes that are happening in health legislation and policymaking.
“Nurses from any area of practice will gain valuable insights on key legislative issues as well as how to harness their ability to influence much-needed change,” says Deb Small, DNP, RN, NE-BC, Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital’s Chief Nursing Officer and executive sponsor of the Zielony Institute’s Nursing Legislative Council. “Conference participants will walk away from this experience with a rich understanding of how health policy impacts the practice of nursing – and how they can better serve as both advocates and caregivers for their patients to ensure superior care delivery.”
The Legislative & Health Policy Conference is intended for nurse administrators, advanced practice nurses, nurse clinicians and other healthcare practitioners interested in advancing nursing knowledge and shaping policies.
The conference will feature sessions and presentations led by local and national healthcare experts – each of whom has extensive expertise in healthcare legislation and policy. Speakers will delve into the many ways nurses can transform healthcare by understanding how policies and legislation impact the delivery of care across the continuum.
