This study seeks to describe characteristics of women with uterine factor infertility (UFI) who were screened as candidates for a uterine transplantation clinical trial at our institution with very interesting results.

Changes in Ovarian Morphology Associated with Bariatric Surgery Among Women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)

This retrospective study seeks to assess the impact of bariatric surgery on ovarian morphology among women with PCOS., Postoperatively, the patients in this study showed decreased ovarian volume and a trend towards a decline in markers of androgen excess. These results suggest that weight loss associated with bariatric surgery may result in resolution of the key characteristics associated with PCOS including androgen excess and ovarian enlargement.

For a number of reasons, reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI) practices and trainees have had continued reduction in exposure to reproductive surgery. This study assesses the exposure to reproductive surgery in graduating REI fellows in order to determine if there would be interest in further training in reproductive surgery.

The Retroperitoneal Approach to Endometriosis

This compilation of videos and animations shows surgeries performed via laparoscopic resection on patients with stage IV endometriosis. In order to resect deeply infiltrating pelvic endometriosis, one must have a clear understanding of the anatomy of the pelvic sidewall and be able to identify numerous landmark pelvic structures. With disease affecting the cul-de-sac with dense adhesions to the peritoneum, the best approach to excision of endometriosis is to access the retroperitoneal space.
