Celebrating two decades of education and advancement in the field of neuroscience, Cleveland Clinic is proudly hosting its milestone 20th annual Innovations in Neuroscience. A robust educational forum, the 2018 event will be held on Thursday, Nov. 1 and Friday, Nov. 2 in downtown Cleveland.

It is designed primarily for registered nurses, advanced practice nurses, physician assistants and physical and occupational therapists.

“For 20 years, Innovations in Neuroscience has drawn attendees from both near and far,” says Kimberly Hunter, DNP, MSN, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, Associate Chief Nursing Officer, Cleveland Clinic main campus and Director of Nursing, Neurological Institute, Cleveland Clinic health system. “Each year, this event addresses the most pressing topics in neuroscience and for our 20th anniversary edition, the 2018 event features an extensive line-up of experienced Cleveland Clinic faculty, incredibly talented invited guest speakers, break-out sessions, a hands-on workshop and more.”

20th anniversary edition offers something for everyone

In what will be a compelling two days, the 20th anniversary Innovations in Neuroscience offers something for all attendees. Highlights from the agenda, include:

  • Speaker presentations on topics including:
    • Deep brain stimulation for stroke recovery.
    • Advances in diagnosis and treatment of seizures.
    • Stroke diagnostics and decision-making.
    • Shortening the distance between technology and healthcare.
    • Updates in endovascular therapy.
    • An overview of Neuro-Oncology.
    • Neuro-Endocrinology and quality of life decisions.

    • Geriatric psychiatry.

Additionally, invited guest speakers will include Susan Painter, DNP, PMHCNS-BC, PMHNP-BC, Director Family Systems Psychiatric Mental Health Program at the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University, located in Cleveland; and, Cari Pisano from Huron, Ohio, author of the book, All in Her Head, based on a true story.

The event begins promptly at 7:45 a.m. EST both days with registration, breakfast and exhibits beginning at 7 a.m. EST. The event adjourns at 4:30 p.m. EST and lunch is also provided.
