2-Day Course Educates Nurses on Evidence-Based Practice

Cleveland Clinic’s Office of Nursing Research and Innovation announces the dates for its 2019 Evidence-Based Practice Course. The course is designed to engage and educate clinical nurses about the value of evidence-based practices and methods to evaluate what is known about published evidence on specific topics and themes used in clinical practice.

Held over a span of two days, the course is scheduled to take place March 11-12, 2019, at Cleveland Clinic’s Administrative Campus in Beachwood, Ohio.

Learn, appreciate and apply evidence-based practice knowledge

Presented by several doctoral-prepared faculty members from the Office of Nursing Research and Innovation, the course provides attendees with detailed guidance on “understanding the literature” and “synthesizing the literature” components of the evidence-based practice process. It offers didactic and workshop formats designed to:

• Facilitate an electronic search of the literature.
• Discuss the strength and quality of research and review evidence.
• Understand systematic review and meta-analysis findings including, understanding how to interpret forest plots.
• Make best decisions when synthesizing data based on available literature.
• Describe translation (diffusion) processes and resources needed to adopt real-world evidence into clinical practice.

Nurses can register online for Cleveland Clinic’s two-day Evidence-Based Practice Course through March 1, 2019. Registration will not be available on site at the event.

The two-day course will be held from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., EST. Attendees have the opportunity to earn 15.25 American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) contact hours upon course completion.
